While growing up in a musical family, Reneé started her formal piano education at age 8 with Robin Clary of Thousand Oaks, CA. She later studied with Rae Holcomb (Robin’s mother), continuing with her through her high school years. She was fortunate to participate in many MTAC festivals and recitals during her formative years. Reneé received her B.A. in Music with Honors from Portland State University in 1991, where she studied piano and pedagogy under Mary Kogen.

Reneé maintained an active piano studio in the Portland Metro area for many years before relocating to Central Oregon in December 2023, after she and her husband became empty-nesters. All three of their adult children are musicians and perform regularly.

Reneé has served as a church musician and as a collaborative pianist for choirs and soloists. Her passion is bringing people together through music, and she hosts regular performance groups for local community members out of her home in Redmond. In her free time Reneé enjoys reading, traveling with her husband Tim, dancing in Zumba classes, walking in the Dry Canyon, serving in her local Rotary chapter, and playing music with her kids when they come visit.

Reneé finds great joy in teaching and sharing her knowledge with the next generation of musicians.
