Michael Carney

Michael Carney was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He started taking classical piano lessons at the age of 4, playing in numerous recitals and competitions. In high school, Michael joined the jazz band and continued his music studies at the University of Oregon where he played in various jazz and Latin ensembles.

Since moving to central Oregon in 2021, Michael has been teaching at the Cascade School of Music, and performs with local groups including the COCC jazz big band and the Bendiciones salsa orchestra. Michael is also an accompanist for vocal and percussion students in the Bend/Redmond region. When not at the piano, Michael enjoys skiing, hiking, and helping community members navigate the real estate market
